I have been looking into the problom of sorting wiring lists on the S1.

It would help me if I had a sample of the wire list input data and of the
sorted output, to keep my feet on the ground as to just what should be
provided.  Also I would like some info as to how the job is now done, if a
Fortran sort package then maybe a copy of the Fortran, if an IBM system
sort is used then any auxillary programs you might use, or anything else
that might help me to get started.

My present plan is to first write a program adapted for PDP-10 use, but
I would hope to arrange it so as to minimize the work that will be required
to adapt it to the S1 and to extend it for concurrent processing.  The
first draft would be in PASCAL but I would hope to be able to redo the
inner-most procedures as External Procedures in Assembly Languague, if this
seemed desirable.  ALS
